My portrait of Jean Cooke is part of a series that I'm developing about women artists (and often muses) who were somewhat overshadowed by there male partners. I did this lino cut after seeing a self portrait by Jean Cooke. She was married to the kitchen sink artist John Bratby. History has remebered Bratby where as Cooke is less well known.
This three colour print is printed on 130g imitation Japanise vellum using linseed based inks. It measures 240 x 320mm
