My portrait of Emilie Flöge is part of a series that I'm developing about women artists (and often muses) who were somewhat overshadowed by there male partners. Emilie and her sister, Helene, were fashion designers in the rational dress style and had a very forward thinking boutique in 1890s Vienna. Emilie became the life partner of Gustav Klimt and her clothes and textiles are represented in many of Klimt's paintings.

This three colour print is printed on 130g imitation Japanise vellum using linseed based inks. It measures 240 x 320mm
