My portrait of Dora Maar is part of a series that I'm developing about women artists (and often muses) who were somewhat overshadowed by there male partners. Dora Maar was a French photographer, painter, and poet who was associated with the surrealists. She went on to become one of Picasso's influential muses. She documented his painting of Guernica in 1937 and was the subject of many of his portraits, including Weeping Woman.
This three colour print is printed on 130g imitation Japanise vellum using linseed based inks. It measures 240 x 320mm
